Outline of Project

For this project, I will be drawing many pictures.  Even though I am not the best artist, my audience will still be able to tell what is going on in each picture and what everything is.  The pictures I am posting now are not my final pictures.  One picture I will be drawing is the Trevi Fountain.  I am going to draw this because Bella, the girl in my story, will be visiting this while she is in Rome.   I will make the water a very pretty blue, and I will do my best to make all the statues look like they do in real life.  This will make people want to visit Rome to see the Trevi Fountain.  This will especially make girls reading the diary entry want to go to the Trevi Fountain with their boyfriend or husband so they can experience the romantic feel of it.

To portray Bella falling in love, I am going to draw a picture of her with Vincenzo, the boy she meets in Rome.  They will be walking on the beach during the evening watching the sunset.  I decided to have it occur during this time because people usually find scenes like these romantic.  This will make my audience really feel the love Bella felt that night.

Another picture I am going to draw is of Bella and Vincenzo at a Romantic dinner.  In one of Bella’s diary entries, it talks about how much they both learned about each other the night they had dinner together.  This is also the night they fell in love.  I decided I would draw this scene because it is important for the romance aspect of our project.  This will affect my audience by making them fall in love with Bella and Vincenzo as a couple.
Overall, the pictures I will be drawing will effectively display how two people fall in love over a short period of time.  I would like my group’s final project to affect the audience by making them want to go to different places in Italy to find romance, adventure, religion, and food.

Harry Potter Plagiarism?! Source

1)Source-  http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/02/18/entertainment/main6219192.shtml?tag=cbsnewsTwoColLowerPromoArea;morenews

CBS news wrote an article about J.K Rowling allegedly plagiarising the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire book. It talked about how she was taken to court for these acsusations. I think that this source is very reliable because it is CBS and a news station. In order to write this article someone on the CBS news team had to investigate about this situation.

2)Case

Rowling stated that, "I am saddened that yet another claim has been made that I have taken material from another source to write Harry," she said. "The fact is I had never heard of the author or the book before the first accusation by those connected to the author's estate in 2004; I have certainly never read the book."  J.K. Rowling explains how she completely appalled that she was accused of this. She alsa stated, "We will be applying to the Court immediately for a ruling that the claim is without merit and should therefore be dismissed without delay." This statement is very bold and easily understood that Rowling is very upset with these allegations. She was not charged with plagiarism of the fourth Harry Potter book, The Goblet of Fire.

Harry Potter Plagiarism-Case

In this plagiarism case, J.K. Rowling is involved.  She is the author of the Harry Potter books.  She was accused of plagiarizing her fourth book, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire."  The people in charge of the estate of Adrian Jacobs are the people that accused Rowling of plagiarizing.  They believe that she took ideas from one of Adrian's fantasy books.  The case has been to court where it was dismissed.

I do not think J.K. Rowling plagiarized her fourth book.  Also, I don't think she meant for it to be anything like Adrian Jacobs' book.  J.K. Rowling could not have done anything differently since she was not plagiarizing anything and the courts agree with her.

Harry Potter Plagiarism- Source

When J.K. Rowling was being accused of plagiarism in her book, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", Fox news covered the story.  Fox researched the story and got quotes from the people involved.   Fox talked about the things that were the same in both stories that made J.K. Rowling seem like she was plagiarising.  It is important that Fox News covered this story because it means that the information is credible.  This is a believeable and reliable source because Fox News covers many stories and they are always reliable.  Many people believe what they say and rely on them.

J.K.Rolling Case

In this cases it is againest JK Rolling the author of Harry Potter, she is suspected of plagiarsing her 4th Harry Potter book. J.K. Rolling was being accused of takeing idea from Adrian Jacobs. The case began in 2004 and the accusations continues on for publicity reasons.

Harry Potter Plagairism

J.K. Rowling was accused of plagiarizing Adrian Jacobs book "Willy the Wizard." According to Jacobs, both books have a wizard tournament and the wizards within the books travel by train. The US courts decided that they were going to throw the case out. I believe that this case is irrelevant because J.K. Rowling had already had 3 books out before this one, where the wizards were traveling by train.

What I learned from today

      Denise Consorti

Today I learned many things.  One of the things I learned is that the different groups in the class had many different takes and ideas for this project.  This is important for my project because I realized it’s okay to do the project differently than other groups because this project can be done through many different angles and they are all correct.  This is important for my development as a student because it showed me that you can brainstorm for a project in many different ways.  For example, you can draw your ideas like we did in class today.  I realized there are more ways to brainstorm for things than writing an outline.  What I learned today is important for my development as a writer because it showed me that there are many different ways to write something.  It showed me that you don’t have to use formal writing to get started.
Another thing I learned is visuals can help with a project.  Visuals are important for my project because they will help me tell the story for my project.  They will also further explain the story in a more interesting way.  This is important for my development as a student because it has taught me to add things to my projects, like visuals, to make them more interesting.  This is important for my own development as a writer because I realized that I can create visuals to go along with my papers to make them fun and enjoyable to read.  These visuals can be pictures, power points, or actual objects.  There are many possibilities.
I also learned this is not a standard project; therefore there is room for creativity.  This is important for my project because it will allow me to be creative.  This will make my project more enjoyable for the people reading it.  It will also allow me to go beyond the amount of work I would normally do for a project.  This is important for my development as a student because it has taught me I don’t always have to be so serious during projects and that it’s okay to make them fun.  This is important for my own development as a writer because it will help me make my papers interesting by being creative.
The final thing I learned today is to have a target audience.  This is important for my project because it will keep my writing more focused by making me write for a specific group of people.  I also learned that groups can have a different target audience depending upon what they are writing about.  This is important for my own development as a student because it will teach me to make sure I always have a target audience for any project I do.  This is important for my own development as a writer because it will keep me focused on my target audience and help me have the same tone throughout my papers.

What I learned today

Today in class we did a project where we had to draw on a piece of paper about our ideas for project 2. By doing this project I learned many new aspects about the writing process. Though many people wouldn't think that drawing pictures could help you write and brainstorm about something, it definitely did.  While we were drawing pictures about the specific topics that we each had to do, it got our minds going and us thinking outside the box. At first we came up with our idea for our new blog project pretty fast, but then after that we were stumped.  Not having a lot of direction for the project was another road block we faced while trying to think about ideas. Since we were stuck about what else to do with our project, this activity in class really helped.  It made us think about other abstract ideas that we could make fit into our project. Before we did this activity we each came up with specific categories that each person would write about in their diary entry. The topics were: food, adventure, religion, and love/romance. This was as far as we had gotten before we came to class today. Once we started drawing and talking to each other we came up with different objects for each category.  For instance my category is religion.  All I could think about was to take a picture of a cross and have that relate to my diary entry about Bella (the girl traveling through Italy) while she was in the Vatican city. As my group and I were talking about my topic we came up with the idea to go and take pictures of crosses, a bible, a rosary, and other pictures that she may have seen in the Vatican while she was there. I do not consider myself very artistic, but I still found that this activity helped me think of more ideas for my specific role in the project. Not only did the drawing part of the activity help me think of more ideas for our diary entries, talking to my group members helped a lot.  We all helped each other and talked about each topic and how it could be improved.  I think that everyone in the group struggled with finding different objects to take pictures of that would relate well to the diary entry.  Especially since we cannot use pictures from the internet and have to take our own. Now that I have more of an idea of what to take pictures of, going out and taking pictures around campus will not be so hard for me to do. I think that this activity also helped me develop as a writer because in the future I can use this technique when I am doing other projects. Sometimes doing things that don't correlate directly to your project, like coloring on a piece of paper, help you in the weirdest ways. Overall I think that this project was a success and I really liked doing something other than just sitting on our computers!
